Field Agronomy & Application Technician
Location: Greensburg, IN

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Field Agronomy & Application Technician to join our team. This role focuses on applying crop protection products and fertilizers, maintaining equipment, and supporting branch operations. The ideal candidate enjoys a mix of field and shop work, takes pride in safety, and values accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply crop protection products, dry, and liquid fertilizers according to agricultural standards
  • Maintain and service fertilizer spreaders and application equipment
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
  • Operate and maintain trucks and field equipment
  • Follow HAZMAT safety procedures and USDOT/FMCSR standards
  • Report operational, customer, vendor, or equipment issues to the Branch Manager
  • Support multiple branch locations as needed
  • Maintain office, shop, and grounds in clean and safe condition
  • Assist walk-in customers and answer phone inquiries
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Note: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Agriculture or farming experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Ability to operate vehicles with manual transmission
  • Experience operating forklifts, skid loaders, and wheel loader
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Licenses / Certifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License; Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred
  • Applicator’s License
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 60+ lbs and perform repetitive lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to read fine print and use a keyboard
  • Clear hearing for phone communications
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
Work Environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and chemical
  • Occasional work at heights and in extreme weather conditions
  • Frequent loud noise environments
